17 Apr 2023**Richard Binns is the star as Belle Isle take team title**Belle Isle defeated Farsley Cons 4-2 to take the Fowler Trophy at the NSC tonight.
First up for Belle Isle was Richard Binns who faced Farsley's Scott Raper in a repeat of last seasons Leeds Championship final. This time it was Binns who shone, a 47 break helping him to a 91-20 victory. Glen Cassidy then made it 2-0 with a 73(39)-24 win over Mark Ball.
Farsley's Andrew Heseltine gave his team hope with a 70-26 defeat of Steven Hirst in a scrappy third frame to make it 2-1 to Belle Isle.
Scott Raper was in first in his second frame against Richard Binns and led 15-0 but that was as good as it got as up stepped Binns to craft a superb 101 break making it 3-1 to Belle Isle
In the 5th frame Mark Ball gained revenge over Glen Cassidy, breaks of 31 and 32 giving him a comfortable 89-18 frame win.
So at 3-2 to Belle Isle the game was in the balance but Steven Hirst kept his nerve and contributions of 25 and 22 enabled him to take frame and match 64-8 against Andrew Heseltine.
