This coming Friday (15th) will see Scott Raper v Richard Binns battle it out in the Leeds City Championship Singles Final at NSC, followed by a presentation of all the Leeds City Championship competitions.

Should be a great night, please come and show your support.

Final start time: 19.30 followed by presentation and food provided by NSC

Richard Binns defeated NSC's Isa Ishtiaq 4-2 in last nights Len Lee Invitation final.

A run of 30 helped Binns take the first frame before Ishtiaq hit back with a nicely crafted 56 break to level at 1-1. Binns took the next (36 break) and looked to be going 3-1 up before missing a simple black which would have left his opponent needing a snooker on the colours. A couple of shots later Ishtiaq fluked the yellow and cleared the colours to draw level again at 2-2. Unpeturbed Binns took the next (47 break) and despite Ishtiaq having a run of 38 in the sixth frame, Binns wrapped up the match 4-2 to keep the title he has now won three times in a row.

Binns is in action again on Friday in the Leeds Snooker singles final.

The final of the Sykes Cup between Lee Brookes (Garforth WMC) and Steven Hirst (Belle Isle WMC) will take place on Thursday 21st July at NSC

The last match of the season, the Windsor Trophy final, will take place at Belle Isle WMC on Wednesday 27th July.

Gildersome Cons defeated Northern Snooker Centre 5-3 in last nights C of C final.

NSC actually took a 2-0 lead, Gordon Lam (3) beating Paul Bedford (41) and Adam Tollerfield (4) defeating Stuart Gill (43).
The Gildersome duo fought back however and at the break it was level at 2-2.
The match then went to 3-3, NSC'S Dave Boyes (-3) beat Chris Zavros (9), but on the other table son Daniel (1) lost to Gildersome's Ben Keedy (40).
So going into the final 2 frames the match was there for the taking, and it was the Gildersome players who stepped up, taking both games to seal a 5-3 victory.

Main Line Social overcame a resilient Upper & Lower Wortley team to lift the 3 Man KO 4-1 last night.

A pretty tight affair through out with both No3's an No2 players sharing the first two frames, both frames on pinks respectively.

Lee Atkinson of Main Line then increased to lead to 2-1 and with Danny Newton also winning meant a 3-1 lead going into the final two frames.

It was looking like Gary Popple of Upper & Lower Wortley was going to reduce the deficit, but on the other table Atkinson was in fine form, producing a couple of mini 16 breaks and then a 42 break meant the frame and match was over regardless of the other tables result which was then abandoned.

Thanks to Farsley for hosting and providing excellent playing facilities.

Thanks also to guest referees Mark King and Mark Ball for officiating at the highest level.

The final of the 3 man KO between Main Line Social A and Upper & Lower Wortley Liberal Club B will take place on Monday 4th July at Farsley Cons.

The C OF C final between Gildersome Cons A and NSC A will take place on Tuesday 5th July at Belle Isle WMC. 7:30 start. Dress code applies.

A final reminder of the meeting this coming MONDAY 13th JUNE at 'THE HOLBECK' (HOLBECK WMC).

A detailed email has just been circulated to all team captains, outlining how the registration process will hopefully proceed on Monday.

AS SHOWN OPPOSITE THIS POST IN THE 'WELCOME' COLUMN, NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED AFTER THE MEETING ON MONDAY.

The meeting will also deal with other matters - such as the start date of the 2022/23 season, dates for 2021/22 competitions still to complete, and confirmation of the dates and venue for the main presentation night and the AGM for 2021/22.
