Yesterday saw 23 U18,s (22 boys,1 girl) line up for this years competition.
The preliminary round saw Stanley Moody defeat James Pears 2-1, Casey Ratcliffe included a 37 break in his 2-0 win against Brandon Barry,Lewis Harper, the defending champion, lost his first frame before overcoming Shannon Metcalf 2-1, Samuel Lee Stevens beat Dylan Kemp 2-0, Daniel Boyes repeated last years semi-final win over Josh Brady and Isa Ishtiaq eased to a 2-0 win over Jack Tebble including a break of 42. Best performance of the preliminary round must however go to Liam Pullen who had a break of 74 in a 2-0 win over Jack Hearn.

In the last 16 Stanley Moody had a 2-0 win over Casey Ratcliffe, Samuel Lee Stevens defeated current champion Lewis Harper 2-0 including a break of 49, Isa Ishtiaq (45 break) overcame a spirited effort from Daniel Boyes to win 2-1and Liam Pullen beat Riley Fisher 2-1.
In the lower half of the draw Jack Townend played solidly to defeat Harry Grimmett 2-0,Ronan Lloyd Neilson won a marathon match against Luke Arnold, Joe Fenton eased past Ethan Barry 2-0 and Oliver Hudson potted a pressure pink followed soon after by a great pot on the black to finally see off James Hullah 2-1.

The first quarter final saw 11 year old Stanley Moody take on last years U16 champion Samuel Lee Stevens. Stanley took the first frame but Samuel came back in the second and then established a 40 point lead in the decider. Back came Stanley with a 39 break and after a great tussle on the colours he eventually potted the black for a great 2-1 victory.
Isa Ishtiaq proved too strong for Liam Pullen winning 2-0 and there were 2-0 victories also for Jack Townend over Ronan Lloyd Neilson and Joe Fenton over Oliver Hudson.

The first semi-final proved a match too far for young Stanley as Isa showed his greater experience to ease to a 2-0 win. The other semi proved a closer contest as Joe Fenton eventually overcame the fast improving Jack Townend 2-1.

So Tuesday May 8th sees both junior finals.
At 6:30 Isa Ishtiaq takes on Riley Fisher in the U16 final, immediately followed by the U18 final with Isa in action again against Joe Fenton.

There are 34 entries for the singles and 12 entries for the pairs. A list of entrants can be found below.

Leeds Singles

There are 2 qualifying dates. Sunday 22nd April and Sunday 20th May. Both 10am start.
2 Players will qualify from each date.

Entry fee is £10, payable on the day.

Players will shortly be allocated a qualifying date via a random draw.
A draw will then take place on the morning of each qualifying date.

All matches on the qualifying dates will be best of 5.

Leeds Pairs

The Leeds Pairs competition will be played to a finish on Sunday 27th May, 10am start.

Conditions of entry as per Leeds Singles with a £15 entry fee per pair, payable on the day.

All matches for both competitions to be played at the NSC.

Mark Ball will play Lee Hart on Tue 4th June.
Michael Gaughan will play Andy Farrally on Mon 21st May

Just a final reminder of the meeting for 2018-19 team captains tomorrow night.
This is the first meeting this year, so it is expected all captains will remain for the duration of it.
If it starts on time, it should be over in about 1/2 an hour.
It would assist if outstanding fees for the 3 Man KO could be paid before the meeting starts at 7-45pm. Doors will be open from 7-00pm for this purpose.
