Tonight's final saw Jon Bagley and Dan Womersley take on the competitions surprise package of youngsters Dylan Myers and Adam Rennison.
An edgy first frame went to Bagley/Womersley 68-22 before Womersley took command in the second, breaks of 22 and 71 making it 2-0 (102-8).
Unperturbed the youngsters hit back in the next, two runs of 19 by Rennison put them in the driving seat before Myers secured the frame on the colours.
Rennison/Myers struck first in the fourth but it was Womersley again with a 37 break who swung the frame in his team's favour. Some fantastic long ball potting from Myers threatened to take the match into a decider before Bagley potted the last red and cleared up to brown to effectively seal the frame and match.

Lewis Gillen tonight defeated Liam Pullen 4-0 to reach this year's Leeds final where he will meet NSC's Lewis Harper.
Gillen was first to settle and breaks of 31 and 37 gave him the first frame 84-5.
A superb 70 break in the second made it 2-0 (72-13).
Pullen fought back in the third, and was in the balls with a 45 point lead before surprisingly missing a red into the middle pocket. This allowed Gillen back into the frame and a 34 break took the frame to the colours, before Gillen potted blue, pink and black to make it 3-0. A short while later it was all over at 4-0.
At just 13 years old, young Liam will no doubt have many more opportunities in this competition, but for now it's the "battle of the Lewis's" in the final on 10th May.

Tomorrow, Mon 8th sees the second semi final of the Leeds Singles competition between Lewis Gillen and Liam Pullen.
On Tuesday 9th it's the final of the Leeds Pairs between Bagley/Womersley and Myers/Rennison.

Both matches are at the NSC 7:30 start.

It is with great sadness and regret I have to inform you of the passing of John Sparkes on the 25th March after a short illness.
John captained the Ackroyd St WMC side in the 1979/80 season, this was the first team outside the "Leeds" area as Morley was still an independent town to enter the LBSO and win the A division title.

The Ackroyd St team became the Morley WMC and Institute team and John was a playing member of the side that repeated the A division title in 2011/12.

John also won many titles in his lengthy playing career including the Fowler team trophy and CIU pairs with my father Fred Grimes.

John played in the league more than 40 years and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.


John's funeral will be on Friday 12th April 2pm at St Peters church Rooms Lane Morley LS27 9NX followed by cremation at Cottingley crematorium at 3pm.

It is with great regret and sadness, I have to inform you all of the very recent passing of Gary Webster.
Gary hasn't played in the league for the past few years, but I am aware he will be remembered by many of you.
Gary played predominantly if not exclusively for Rothwell WMC principally at snooker, and he was a key component in an era of success for the Rothwell club, in the not too distant past.
Details of the funeral arrangements for Gary will be shown once they are known, for those of you who wish to pay their last respects.
