Congratulations to all league winners. The draw for the 1st round of the CofC competition will be made live once the 1st round of the 3man KO has been completed. Dates for the matches in the CofC will be agreed between the competition secretary and the respective team captains.

For those who did not pick up a league registration form for next season at the meeting on Monday, you can now download one from the website - go to "About Us / Documents / Meetings".
They need to be properly completed as indicated on the form, and submitted with FULL fees at the next delegates meeting on the 10th April 2017.

In tonight's 2nd Leeds U-18's Semi-Final at NSC which was settled in a tense final frame decider!!! Lewis will now play Samuel Lee-Stevens in the final, which will take place on Tuesday 28th at NSC.

On reaching the final of the Leeds U18 competition after beating Bailey Fisher 3-0 in tonight's semi-final. Samuel will play the winner of tomorrow's match between Lewis Harper and Charlie Smith.

The Stan Brooke Team Semi-Finals will be played at NSC as follows:

Monday 20th March - Barnbow Social Club B v Driglington Tempest Club A

Tuesday 21st March - Harehills Liberal Club A v Bramley Villagers B

19.30 start - Dress Code applies

Final to be played on Monday 27th March

Please note there will be a handicap review next week as the season ends please check for any adjustments as some players will still be in certain competitions also current handicaps must be entered onto the registration form for the new season.

At least it is according to the two Under 16 best of 3 semi-finals played Tuesday 7th March at the Northern Snooker Centre.
First up was 12 year old Samuel Lee-Stevens v Isa Ishtiaq a year older at 13. Isa started impressively and took the first frame 58-45, before back came Samuel to level in the second 60-49, and set up the decider. Much more assured now, Samuel took an early lead in the third and never really looked back after a neat little red-pink break of 21 mid frame. Isa was clearly disappointed as he knew he could have won, but Samuel was just that bit better in the decider winning 89-33 – Samuel – 2 v Isa - 1.

Next came a real treat between 13 year old Josh Bradley up against 9 year old Daniel Boyes, with the extended rest and long tackle nearly worn out at the end! Much like the first semi, Josh started the better and eventually took the first frame 49-27, after putting Daniel in an almost impossible snooker on the blue, before Daniel took the second frame 38-21 to set up a tense decider. Josh started confidently in the last, took early control and looked like booking his place in the final, but Daniel never gave up even needing a snooker with only pink and black left. He played a very mature stroke to lay a very difficult snooker which Josh missed, and after one or two failed pots from both players followed, Daniel eventually potted the winning black and literally jumped for joy to take the frame 48-44 – Daniel – 2 v Josh – 1.

Both games were competitive but played in very good spirit. Congratulations to Samuel and Daniel, but both Josh and Isa would not have looked out of place in the final. Well done to them also and better luck next time.

The best of 3 Final will be played on Tuesday 28th March ***starting at 6-30pm***.

Best player on the night Mark Ball (Horsforth Cons), played a classy final frame decider against Bob Patterson (Crossgates Rec), to win the scratch Leeds City team event by 4 frames to 3 and secure the prestigious “Fowler Trophy”.
Never in front after the first frame when Mark beat Dave French (Crossgates Rec), Horsforth were always playing catch up after Crossgates then went 2-1 up at the ‘half way’ point. In fact, after sharing the next two, in a low scoring sixth frame and leading 3-2, it looked like Gary Calter would seal victory for Crossgates 4-2, until his opponent Phil Morton took from the green to the pink to pinch the frame and set up the decider.
The final frame was never in doubt as Mark set off with a 49 break straightaway, and then closed the frame out with some excellent all round match play snooker.
