Due to unforeseen circumstances the website has been offline since Monday.
Thank you for your patience and also for the results that are in so far. I will tolerate a late result or two this week but please try to submit as soon as you can.
If a player has played off a wrong handicap this week due to not having seen last weeks handicap review no penalty's will be applied for THIS WEEK ONLY.
If you played off your new handicap thank you.
Teams playing out of The Northern Snooker Centre have had to rearrange this weeks fixtures due to The World Billiards Championships as soon as these matches are played will captains involved submit results please but within the 14 day deadline.
There will be an handicap review this week but I am unsure if it will be Saturday or Sunday (results permitting).
CAN YOU PLEASE CHECK LAST WEEKS HANDDICAP REVIEW IN CASE YOU HAVE MISSED ANY ADJUSTMENTS IN YOUR HANDICAP.

New handicaps come into force from Monday 20th October.
Some of the handicaps show a minus symbol when they have been given extra points the new handicap showing for these players is correct if you are unsure please send me an email and I will confirm the correct handicaps for specific players.

Can all captains please be aware of the leagues rules regarding match dates. It clearly states in rule 18 ( D & E) that fixtures can only be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions only.
I prefer fixtures to have a full complement of players and indeed we require 4 players to play in all fixtures, but if you can only muster 1/2/ or 3 players the fixtures MUST go ahead.
There are 3 fixtures that have been rearranged this week and will be missing from the results until they are played which can mean that player's handicaps could evade a handicap review.

1- (B) DIV- Mainline v Tinshill
2- (F) DIV- Harehill's Lab v Swillington
3- (H) DIV West Hunslet v Driglington.

New handicaps come into force from Tuesday 7th October.

Some of you may have already noticed certain changes to the rules of snooker by the WPBSA.
In the words of a local rules official, "most.......are clarifications and NOT changes."
He continues, the "Foul and a Miss Rule has been re-written for ease of clarity, but in essence remains the same, however many of the cross references have changed positions."
The major rule change is the foul of touching any ball during consultation when replacing balls after a 'foul and a miss', which now carries a penalty of 7 points (previously the value of the 'ball on').
A more detailed explanation of the changes, will be given at the first delegates meeting to be held on 10th November 2014.
In the meantime, a full version of the 'new' rule book can be viewed on the WPBSA website. Please note, the version you need to view is the one effective from 12th August 2014 with a 2014 copyright on the inside cover, and not the 2011 version with the same cover.
